Most of us live normal, healthy, active lives with our family and friends. We never give a thought to simple things, like walking or drinking a glass of water. Everyday work and play are totally effortless. Unfortunately, there are millions of other people whose lives are dramatically different. In underdeveloped countries around the world, the arms and legs of innocent adults and children have been ripped off by landmines, war, terrorism, genocide, or other unspeakable atrocities. Or, maybe,their limbs were lost to birth defects, accidents or primitive healthcare.

Day after day, these amputees struggle just to survive. Without the miracle of an artificial limb and professional medical care, these forgotten victims are sentenced to a bleak existence and, often, an early death.

It would be easy to turn a deaf ear to their plight. But, Ortho Impact International Foundation believes that, with a little help from many kind and generous people, we can restore hope, confidence, and meaning to many of these needy human beings. For over a decade, Ortho Impact's primary focus has been to collect, clean, inventory, and distribute critical orthotics, prostheses, and other related supplies throughout the world. Our reward is the smile on a kid's face when he plays soccer again or the man who can lay down his stick or cane, walk once more, and work to support his family.
